Granite Countertops

Granite is a natural stone sourced from the earth. So, there can be some variation in color and tone and pattern from slab to slab.

Sealing Needed

While it is dense, granite is still a porous material. As a result, we recommend sealing your countertop annually to combat staining from oils, sauces, and other liquids. If your granite countertops are properly sealed, liquids and oils will bead on top, rather than seep into the stone.

Performance

Granite is naturally heat resistant. You can even place a hot plate on your granite countertops momentarily without causing long-term damage, although that is not recommended.

Appearance

Granite slabs tend to be darker in color or have a more speckled appearance. To achieve a white countertop or a marble look without the marble price tag, we recommend quartz.

Both granite and quartz are beautiful selections for your new home.
